there's this brilliant new-age prorgam called "format.exe"

If your FAT is damaged , ALL you can do is compare the stuffed with the new...which is done automaticly with scandisk , and thus MAYBE get the old stuff/info back. [30% chance]

Otherwise,all you can do is stabilize the damaged FAT and be content with the missing stuff.[10% chance of happening...]

Just plain format again...[60%]
